6-13-2007: The Last Press Start at KCPR

June 13th, 2007 by Warrior Bob

Hot on the heels of our second-to-last live show comes this, our last live show with KCPR. It’s some news, a lot of tangents, and rather a bit of retrospective near the end. Honestly I’m kind of amazed at some of the stuff I’ve apparently said. Amazing.

Of course, we’d much prefer it if Press Start wasn’t over. We have every intention of keeping the show going, but we’ll be likely taking some time to figure out a new format and a new workflow. Heck, maybe even a new name. Want to be involved, or have a suggestion or request? You’ve got our email address.

And if you don’t, it’s pressstartkcpr at gmail period com.

Now enjoy the show and go play some games.

Press Start Show for 6-7-2007

This is our second-to-last live show in the KCPR studios.  How depressing is that.

This week we cover, well, games.  You know, game stuff.  People playing games.  Also people playing games on fire.  We also discuss a new bill to restrict the spread of games the powers that be don’t like - and why this might be a good thing?  Tune in to find out blah blah you know the rest.

Do you like videogames?  Us too!

This week:

  • MAME is really quite fun
  • BBC is going to broadcast in Second Life
  • The Sims is apparently a good idea for a movie
  • Dirty Dancing is apparently a good idea for a game
  • Colin McRae’s new game has a lot of bloom in it
  • Ding

The postshow is unfortunately gone this week, as Justin needed to head off to a lab.  It is a sad thing to be sure.

Press Start Show for 5-16-2007

Looks like I’m back on the show this week. It’s almost as if I never left considering how often I end up in the studio.

This week, we tell you that Aegis Wing on the XBLA is actually quite good, and is getting a lot more play than the Halo 3 beta that people can’t download yet, except for those that can. We cover Squeenix’s big party, the forthcoming release of Tecmo Bowl (!!!), and forthcoming cellphone games. And of course, the inevitable game that we don’t like has made the rounds recently.

Music this week is from the concept album Atebite and the Warring Nations by disasterPEACE. Modern percussion and vintage 8-bit noises. Good stuff.

Technical difficulties on this one.  Consider it a double-feature for this week.
