Audio games and the makers thereof

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

As promised, here are relevant links of interest to today’s show:

-A listing containing, among others, audio games of subpar fun.

-Bavisoft, makers of Chillingham and Grizzly Gulch

-The deep dark pit of Studio Hunty

To play In the Pit on your Windows-based PC, you’ll need an Xbox 360 controller.  Either a wired one or a wireless one with the wireless receiver peripheral will do.

While many of us take good graphics in videogames almost for granted, this ceases to be an issue if you cannot see them. Fortunately, there are ‘video’ games that compensate for this, and this week we explore some of the little-known games for the blind.

If you are a blind gamer or know of one, or if you just want to comment on the show, we urge you to email the show or leave a comment on the webpage. Today’s show has already generated unusual interest from our listeners, and we encourage such discourse.

This week’s music tracks are “Crazy Train” and “Minotaur Nightmares” by Mazedude for those curious.

Not a whole lot of gaming news gives much attention to sports games.  That’s largely because not a whole lot of places employ Justin.  This week, we talk a little bit about sports games as a benchmark of a console’s ability.  While we’re at it, we also talk about some old series’ coming to new consoles (maybe), and an amazing fan translation that has quite a few people excited.  And, as usual, the postshow is silly and immature, just how you like it.
